What the What?!?! Yes… this figure has finally come to fruition as Jesse Hernandez shared today this sweet picture you see in this post… a beautiful clear resin OZOMAHTLI cast up by TaskOne of We Are Not Toys. We teased a post HERE back in April… and now we are seeing it all come together. 13 separate parts had to be cast for this, and it turned out so sick! Jesse mentions that this will see the light of day for Dcon 2017, so mark your calendars and get ready… this is one release you don’t want to miss!
Is it just us, or is your skin starting to itch as well… there must be insects around, and from the looks of it, they are GIANT! New from artist Brent Nolasco, “Insecticide“! This is a “rebirth” figure by using Brent’s platform figure “The Eliminator” (posted HERE). Some parts were kept and others were reformed to something new. Insecticide makes it’s debut appearance in The Dark Desendents line with ease… even though Doomsday is still to come, The Insecticide gives hope to the future in a time of darkness and despair. Insecticide is a 6 part resin pull figure that is 6.5″ tall, cast by Taskone (WeAreNotToys) and the first colorway is up for grabs HERE right now for $120 a pop… look at how rad he is! Love those transparent wings!!!

While it’s not been 100% confirmed just yet by the parties involved, we are 100% sure that We Are Not Toys is working with Alex Pardee to bring one of his paintings to life. Back in 2011, Alex brought to life a body of work that was on display at Corey Helford Gallery, his show, “Vertigo: A Decade of Hunting Nightmares” was awesome (check out our on site coverage) – and one of the pieces for this show, “THE BREATHING ARCHITECTURE” (pictured to the left), was featured… and now, it’s going to be brought to life… and we are super excited!!! As you can see, the sculpture and the image look to have the same proportions… how friggen cool! Alex is such a stellar artist and a cool dude and we love the work of W.A.N.T – so this is going to be fantastic. More on this when we find out the details!
Whoa, what’s this sweet little teaser… the folks over at We Are Not Toys posted the above photo with the caption “Just about done molding 13 pieces for one figure…” and yes, that’s the vinyl version of Jesse Hernandez’s “Obsidian” Ozomahtli in those molds… so we can expect to see a badass version of this monkey god in the near future cast up in resin. No word on what colorways are going to happen, but with resin, the world is your oyster… so we can’t wait to see what comes of this! More soon… but check out the vinyl version of this figure below… and let your mind wander 🙂
Brent Nolasco’s new “Doomsday” figure is in the works for a Spring release… and hot damn does it look killer! As you can see, Brent’s “The Eliminator” received a nice make over for the second installment of his ‘Dark Descendents’ line. “DoomsDay” is a 5 part figure and will be cast in resin… which, by the way, is pictured above and was cast by TaskOne of WeAreNotToys. Look for the first release to be painted up and ready to go in a few weeks!
This is the futuristic vision of tech and nature, through creepy slow moving surveillance that watches your every move, comes from the Hollywood prop maker Jordan DeVries aka ‘Riser’. Riser has stepped from being behind the movie magic in some of your favorite blockbusters, to give us a look at his version of a resin art figure and thanks to ‘We Are Not Toys‘ this slow little creeper is up for grabs. “Snailveilance” comes in 3 colors with a very limited 12 pieces of each. He is 4.75” tall and ready to spy on you for the powers that be. Snag one up HERE right now!!!
Will Rimel a.k.a. W.A.R. (William Archer Rimel) just sent over info about his first official resin toy… and we couldn’t be happier for him! All of the pieces of art he makes are called “Funk Muffins”, it’s the world of characters he has created and feels that it embodies the odd, colorful, and whimsical style of his work. This piece is called “Bavid”. This is a very small edition of 12 pieces and is set up to be released via blind box. The original piece was hand sculpted by Will, molded and cast by TaskOne over at ‘We Are Not Toys’, and hand painted by Will.
Each piece is completely unique in its paint style and you won’t know which one you get until you open it. All the “Bavid’s” come in their own professionally designed heavy cardstock box and come with a comical “Warning Label” written by me on the bottom. The toy itself measures 3”x 3.5” x 2” and the box is 4” x 4” x 3”. These are set to release next Wednesday, December 14th at 8pm. Each piece is $40 with $5 S&H, and they will be up for grabs HERE! Don’t miss out… these are great!
What’s next on the chopping block from the folks over at ‘We Are Not Toys’… the amazing “Apollo“, the mascot character from Colorado street artist 84 pages. Apollo stands 5.75” tall, is made from roto-casted, hand painted resin and comes in his OG artist color! Limited to only 35 pieces, these are up for grabs HERE right now!
Sculptor, painter, monster maker and all around mad scientist, Mike “NEMO” Mendez brings us his latest creation, the “Fragon“… and thanks to ‘We Are Not Toys’ these wonderful creatures are up for adoption! Half frog and half dragon, the “Fragon” stands 4” tall and is a solid resin hand painted art figure. This “Emerald Green” color edition is limited to 30 pieces and is up for grabs HERE right now! We absolutely love NEMO’s work.. so these new creations are so great to see!
