WHO-R-U? custom group show at Mothership Gallery!!!


MikeFX has teamed up with Playful Gorilla and the Mothership Art Gallery to host the “Who-R-U” custom group art show… and now, it’s not focused on the legendary band The Who… rather, a new blank figure from MikeFX. All of the fantastic pieces featured in  this show are customs on Mike’s ‘WHO-R-U’ blank resin figure, a pretty amazing figure by itself, but what the artists did to this piece really make it shine.

Mothership Gallery presents: “Animal Instincts” with JFury & Playful Gorilla!


JFury and Playful Gorilla proudly present: “Animal Instincts”… a new two-man show featuring new artworks by both artists. A unique combination of toy customization, illustration, painting and resin casting… these two established artists bring a cartoon style full of clean lines and bright colors. Known for goofy animal character aesthetic, “Animal Instincts” will combine the Voodoo Bunny, Pitbull, Gorilla and Primate artwork of both artists on multiple mediums. The show opening is being held at Mothership Art Gallery and Designer Toy Store (223 W. Girard) on May 5th, 2017 between 6pm – 9pm. After the show opening, on the 5th, all remaining artwork will be found online at www.mothershipgallery.com. With door prizes, a 20” Munny raffle, drinks, snacks and free hugs, this show will almost guarantee you a great time!

Martian Toys to open a retail space in Philadelphia?!?!


Teased HERE on their Instagram, and then confirmed on the most recent Marsham Toy Hour podcast HERE, Aaron from Martian Toys confirms that he will be opening a brick-n-mortar store and gallery in Northern Liberties… which can be seen on the map/picture above. Set to open tentatively on November 4th, Aaron also mentions that he has on board as a manager for the shop, Alex Rivera aka Playful Gorilla… which is an awesome addition, because Alex is not only a talented artist, but a rad dude! More on this soon… but Philly, get ready!

The Dark Knight. The Caped Crusader. Mr. Wayne…. He goes by many names. Whatever you may know him as, one things for sure, Batman is an icon. In the city of Gotham, which he has vowed to protect, Batman is proof you don’t need superpowers to be a superhero. Pushing himself to the absolute pinnacle of human achievement, Batman is a brilliant detective who’s mastered fighting techniques the world’s barely heard of. A hero to the youth and an inspiration to us all. From comics, to movies, from video games to tv shows – the last 75 years we’ve witnessed his crusade against injustice. Today we pay homage. Today the Arsenal of Artists gathers once again. We will raise our voices, don our cowls, remembering always this day… the Day of the Bat!


Playful Gorilla, Cash Cannon and Dad’s Cartoons Proudly Presents The Arsenal of Artists “Day of the Bat!” A group art tribute show to the the Dark knight himself. The Arsenal of Artists is unbelievable roster of talented artists ranging from toy artists to customizers, from digital illustrators to 3d artists. Each participating artist will bring original artwork with to celebrate DC Entertainments Batman Day and pay homage to Batman himself. The show opening is being held at Steve’s Comic Relief, 930 Woodbourne Rd, Levittown, PA 19057, on September 26th, 2015 between 2pm – 8pm. Followed by an online showing of artwork at www.arsenalofartists.com. With door prizes, raffles, drinks, exclusive Bat shaped pretzels, Batman masks for the kids, a special appearance by the Dark Knight of PA, a cosplay contest and a custom wrapped Slingshot aka The New Bat Cycle, Day of the Bat will almost guarantee you a great time!

Suburbal Vinyl presents: “No Toon Left Behind” a massive group art show curated by Playful Gorilla & Cash Cannon!!!


The landscape of childhood has changed. Those of us fortunate enough to grow up raised by the glow of the TV set on Saturday Mornings as we watched our favorite cartoon characters – must never forget those wonderful times. Saturday morning was our time. Our time to grab our favorite bowl of cereal and sit quietly as we watched – suspending our disbelief even if it were for just a few hours. We must remember those days of old. We must reach down and recount the many stories that made us laugh and cry. We owe it to this new generation. The Arsenal of Artists has gathered once again. We will raise our voices and recall our memories leaving no Toon behind!

Playful Gorilla and Cash Cannon Proudly Presents The Arsenal of Artists “No Toon Left Behind!” A group art tribute show remembering Saturday morning cartoons. The Arsenal of Artists follow up show will once again take place at the Suburban Vinyl Art Gallery in Waldwick NJ on August 8th, 2015 between 4pm – 9pm. “No Toon Left Behind” will feature the BIGGEST lineup of the summer! An unbelievably roster of talented artists ranging from toy artists to customizers, from digital illustrators to 3d artists. Each participating artist will bring original artwork with a cartoony twist throwing back to their favorite childhood memories.


The Arsenal of Artist is fortunate enough to have the amazing support of the community at large.
